  • US Sportsbook House Rules: Tennis

    Last updated: January 22, 2026

Bookmakers have different rules regarding how they settle player retirements, either paying out on the player who progresses through to the next round regardless of the current score at the time of the retirement (1 ball), paying out on the player who progresses as long as one set has been completed (1 set), or requiring the whole match to be fully completed for bets to stand (Match complete).

1-Ball Sportsbooks (require one point to be played for the match to have action)

    • DraftKings - 1 ball
"Match Moneyline Markets - In a Grand Slam, ATP, WTA, Challenger Tour, Davis Cup, Fed Cup, United Cup, or Olympic Match where at least one point has been completed but the Match does not reach its normal, natural, or intended end, bets on the player or team declared the winner of the Match by the Match's official governing body, the player or team in the Match progressing to the next round of the Competition, or the player or team in the Match declared the champion in the case of the Match being a final, will be settled as won, and bets placed on all other Selections will be voided. In a Grand Slam, ATP, WTA, Challenger Tour, Davis Cup, Fed Cup, United Cup, or Olympic Match, if at least one point has not been completed, bets on such Match will be voided. For all Matches other than Grand Slam, ATP, WTA, Challenger Tour, Davis Cup, Fed Cup, United Cup, or Olympic Matches (for example only, ITF Matches), if the Match starts and does not reach its normal, natural, or intended end bets on such Match will be voided. Bets will be voided if they are placed after the last completed point of that Match."

    • Fanatics - 1 ball
"In the event of a retirement or disqualification at any point after the match has started, the player/team that is awarded the victory/progresses to the next round will be settled as the Winner in the Match Result/Moneyline market. • FanDuel - 1 ball
"In the event of a retirement or disqualification at any time after the match has started, all bets on the completed service games & points will stand. • Kalshi - 1 ball
"Before August 1: markets are settled based on who advances. From August 1 onward: markets will be listed as Player A vs Player B, and: If a match is cancelled or does not occur, Kalshi will halt trading and pay out to the last traded price for each player (before the earliest notice of the match being cancelled). If a match starts (at least one ball has been played), the match will be determined by the player who wins the match or advances to the next round (as declared by the official). So starting August 1, pre-match withdrawals won't automatically result in a "No" resolution like before. Instead, the payout depends on how much you bought/sold for before the match was called off."
